SPACE ACE DIP SWITCH REMAP - April 9, 2002
Developed by Dave Hallock, Jeff Kinder, and Jeff Kulczycki

INTRODUCTION

The Space Ace DIP Switch Remap is another innovative game enhancement brought to you by the D-L-P.  In this new ROM image, the Space Ace DIP switch settings have been remapped to match more closely with the switch functions of Dragon's Lair.  This allows a person to change EPROMs from Dragon's Lair to Space Ace (or vice versa) and retain the same game settings (such as number of lives, attract mode audio, etc.) without the need to change any DIP switches.  Also, all three skill level selections (CADET, CAPTAIN, SPACE ACE) have been added.  Now you can set your skill level for Space Ace via DIP switch!!  This comes in extremely handy if you are playing Space Ace with a Dragon's Lair control panel that does not have skill level buttons.

PARTS NEEDED

Blank 2764 EPROM
EPROM Programmer
New SAU1 ROM Image (see download section)

NEW DIP SWITCH SETTINGS

Refer to this new remapped Space Ace DIP switch settings chart after the installation of the new ROM.

You can also use the DIP switch chart intended for the DL/SA Combo ROM to see a side-by-side switch comparison between both Dragon's Lair and Space Ace.  This can help you select your settings for both games at the same time.

DOWNLOAD

VERY IMPORTANT!!!!!  If you create the new Space Ace EPROM for another person to use, you must provide that person with a printout of the new Space Ace DIP switch settings.  Thank you!!

INSTRUCTIONS

Simply burn the new remapped Space Ace U1 ROM image onto a blank 2764 EPROM and swap it with your original Space Ace U1 EPROM.  Set your DIP switches, and from then on, each time you change the EPROMs to switch between Dragon's Lair and Space Ace, you will not need to change the DIP switches.

Additionally, instead of using this remapped Space Ace ROM, you could eliminate the need to pull any EPROMs when switching games by building a Dragon's Lair / Space Ace Combo ROM Board, or by using the Merlin MultiROM Board.

DISCLAIMER

The user is solely responsible for any and all adverse effects resulting from the use or misuse of this ROM data or the EPROM it is stored on.
