In late 1983, most video game companies thought that laser disc games were the
future of the gaming industry. Everyone was jumping on the laser
disc bandwagon. In early 1984, the team of Konami / Centuri, who at the
time was releasing games like Track & Field, Hyper Sports, and Super Basketball,
decided to enter the laser disc world with a game called Badlands.
In
Badlands, you play a character named Buck, whose wife and children were killed
by a group of bad guys. Revenge is the only thing on your mind. You
head for town, equipped only with your gun, searching for the people who ruined
your life.
